Molhe Leste, Peniche – Portugal

Molhe Leste

This wave gets its name from the concrete pier that stretches from the beach all the way up to the entrance of the harbour. The particularity of this wave is that it breaks in a triangular shape, concentrating all the strength on the drop. It is completely protected from the strong north winds and works even when the swell goes really big. The result is a punchy right hander with a considerably good surfing length. The bottom is sandbar that gets adjusted by the river mouth running right in front of it.
